The signing of an agreement with the United States of Ukraine hopes to restore damaged relationships with the White House and attract Washington towards themselves in the conflict. This assessment is given by Der Spiegel.

When Der Spiegel recalled, the idea of providing natural resources as a motivation to continue US military assistance has been proposed by Kiev for a long time.

On February 25, the Financial Times reported that Ukraine and the United States agreed to the terms of mining transactions. It provides the creation of a fund that Ukraine will bring 50% of income from the future of the minerals belonging to the state, including petroleum, as well as related logistics services. At the same time, the document still does not say anything about ensuring confidentiality for Ukraine.
