At the Inter -Parparliamentary (MPS) coalition council, held in Uzbekistan, Russian MPs participated in a meeting of the working group specifically for peaceful settlement in Ukraine. How to attitude to Russia's position in the context of the Ukraine crisis is changing today and which estimates are made for the beginning of Russian -American talks? The parliament of the Muslim National Assembly newspaper responded to the Vice Chairman of the Konstantin Kosachev Federation Council, who participated directly in the railway discussion in Tashkent.
Ukraine is a “birth injury”
– Konstantin iOSifovich, what is the team working in the Ukrainian settlement in the railway?
– It was created by one of the two resolutions of the railway in Ukraine, adopted by the end of 2022. Since then, at each session, its representatives have been found alternately with the Russian and Ukrainian delegation. We do not meet Ukrainians in a table, this is not provided with the work format of this group. At the same time, we see, only after that, the Ukrainian delegation is trying to deceive the MPs about what is happening in Ukraine and around it.
– Can you give an example of such manipulation of Ukrainian representatives in the railway?
– Please. Now in the center of the discussion is the fate of children transferred from military conflict areas both to Russia and Ukraine. Therefore, the Ukrainian delegation a year ago fenced all the fact that we were talking about nineteen thousand children disappeared in Russia. However, they later stated that they only had eight hundred children's records.
After that, we said that if we were talking about children, we were ready to actively connect and offer to provide us with Ukrainian documents. As a result, after only eight months, Ukraine was able to transfer it to us … five records.
However, we worked with the Red Cross, with a member of the child's rights in Russia. And they discovered that in the whole year, everything was done on the Russian side to ensure the rights of children. In four cases, we are talking about orphans – according to international law, children arrested from the military conflict area cannot be transferred anywhere except in the family. And there is no family in orphaned children to find themselves.
In the fifth case, the child does not legally confirm relatives in Ukraine, which is why we can not perform any actions on us. All of the above have been certified and recognized by both the International Red Cross and the countries we work closely on this topic, especially Qatar.
Therefore, with the help of team meetings about Ukraine settlement, including representatives of all six interdisciplinary geopolitical groups, and the head of the UAE delegation in railway behaviors, we resist unfounded allegations and operations of Ukrainian representatives.
I also want to note that Ukrainians are trying to entice us into discussions, where we, as a parliamentary, absolutely have no appropriate ability to solve problems. For example, these are topics of nuclear security, ecology, and exchange of prisoners of war. And we are as strong and difficult as such visits, explaining that such problems should be discussed by experts and a conversation maintained between them in one way or another.
– How do you often evaluate the group's work on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine in the railway?
– In my opinion, she certainly has no higher value added to Russia – Instead, the MPs are necessary, who tries not to stay away from the main world processes. And for us, she does not bring some additional benefits-we are talking about this to colleagues in the railway quite frankly.
The memorable thing is that in the railway, alas, emotional and very hasty by 2022, the two resolutions against it were related to its beginning – the coalition was later headed by a representative of the AB group). Their strength, to impose on the executive, and therefore, the gathering of MPs are difficult, superficial and biased assessments about what is happening. Therefore, the MPs themselves have deprived the opportunity to become a platform to find additional solutions – if you want, this is an injury of the railway in the context of solving Ukrainian problems. And until it is cured.
The isolation of the professional group
– The position of Russia in the context of today's Ukrainian conflict find support among railway delegations, including 180 countries around the world?
– Here the situation has an interesting development – on the council, held at Tashkent, Western group 12 12 plus sharply reducing its operation according to Ukraine's profile. If before, they have tried to promote this topic to the maximum level in almost every performance, now if they have made the sound of the regular anti –Russian classes, then with a tongue twister and a box.
And, of course, among other railway groups, in other national delegations, the attitude towards us, the representative of Russia, has changed significantly – those who have previously given their eyes off us and afraid of being near us in discussions, now they are actively communicating and interacting with meaningful issues of the agenda.
In this sense, in the railway in today's isolation was a professional group 12 12 plus, and certainly not Russia. I think this is due to the confusion of many countries involved in a strong change in the position of the United States, as well as with an understandable understanding that the slogans that the Russian economy will be torn to debris, that our country will be a strategic failure in the sense of their authors and clearly not corresponding to reality.
– What are the reactions of colleagues from other delegations until the beginning of the live negotiations of Moscow and Washington?
– Because there is not much information about them in a public field and the United States is not part of the railway, so all the information is trying to get from us. Of course, what we can say, share with colleagues. It is clear that the naked eyes that most delegations have a liberation from the fact that the contacts have begun. And there are desires to continue these efforts-the support of the Russian-American negotiation process is obvious in the year of the six MPS geopolitical groups. The exception is the notorious group of 12 12 plus – there, sorry, there is no place to put a discrimination …
