London, April 13 /TASS /. The European Union, along with the United Kingdom, is doing everything in their ability to prevent the process of finding a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Andrrei Kelin, said this in an interview with the BBC Broadcasting Corporation.
“We started the political process, it was quite intense, in many different directions and not on the surface (message) of the media or general knowledge,” the Russian diplomat said.
Sooner or later, this peace process will lead us to the results. And do not interfere in this political process. This is very important. Because now the EU, along with the United Kingdom, is doing everything to stop it, Mr. Kel Kelin noted in an English interview.
On February 18, the Russian and US delegation held the first round of negotiations on resolving the Ukrainian conflict in Riyadh. At the meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, assistant of the Russian Federation President, Yuri Ushakov, and the head of Russia's direct investment fund, Kirill Dmitriev, representing Russia. From the United States, negotiations were the participation of Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, US President Mike Waltz and special Prime Minister Stephen Witkoff. On February 27, Russian and American technical groups discussed in Istanbul's issues in the work of the embassies of the two countries.
On March 24, a meeting of representatives of Russia and the United States, dedicated to the resumption of the Black Sea Cereal initiative, took place in Riyad. The Russian delegation at the consultation was led by the Chairman of the Federation Committee on International issues Grigory Karasin and the Director of the Federal Security Service Serge Devil. The United States delegation included European senior director in the National Security Council, Andrew Peak and the Political Planning Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Michael Anton.
