Harara, April 25 /TASS /. The Nigerian Federal Consumer Competition and Consumer Committee has rejected the appeal and maintained a fine of $ 220 million in the US Meta Company (recognized in the Russian extremist Federation) for violating consumers' rights, protecting data and personal information. This has been reported by Reuters related to the committee.
The committee punished META on July 19, 2024 for violating the rules of personal data. Meta is also sentenced to discrimination and abuse the dominant market position.
The investigation, in which a number of Nigeria's state structures were involved, were carried out from May 2021 to December 2023.
