As part of Ask The Developer, the Nintendo developers have talked about creating Switch 2 – the company's first console in the past 8 years.

One of the interesting facts – in the early stages, the project is called Super Switch as a reference for Super Nintendo.
Working on the device began before 2019. According to the manufacturer Koichi Kavamoto, the first group focused on speeding up the processor to do what could not be on the first switch.
For example, in the Mario Kart world, you can now seamlessly between the rails, and in Donkey Kong Bananza – destroying everything.
The developers have abandoned the idea of introducing unique hardware functions (such as Wii or DS) and decided to focus on basic capabilities, improving them to a new level.
The device still supports TV and mobile game mode and initial concepts with disconnected controllers remains unchanged.
New accessories like Ring-Con Nintendo will continue to be developed separately if the game requests. The main task of Switch 2 is to provide developers with a strong and popular platform. The release of the control panel will take place on June 5.
