The Orenburg area became a member of the national “Crystal Compass” contest, presenting two projects to preserve and disseminate geographic, environmental and historical and cultural heritage. The award was organized with the participation of the Russian Geography Association and the support of the presidential fund on cultural initiatives, as well as Rossotrudnichestva.

The Orenburg sector will compete for the victory in publicly recognized nomination, where applications from 17 countries will compete. The result of the vote will determine the winners. The area has presented a pilot project of the Russian Geography Association and the new publication of Eduard Eversman's book, the journey from Orenburg to Bukhara.
The RGO class project, initiated by the Orenburg Branch of the Russian Geography Association in the “Yasen” rural school, is spreading in other areas of Russia.
The bilingual version of Eversman's book is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first publication. The book, written in the form of travel notes on the journey of Orenburger with a journal to Bukhara, very interesting for a series of readers and experts in the field of geology, geography, botanical, ethnography and history. Igor Khramov, head of Eurasia charity and book publisher named after Gennady Donkovtsev participated in the translation.
